Kindergarten is finishing up their line paintings this week. (See also their earlier line sculptures). They used what they know about different kinds of lines to create these beautiful paintings. Wassily Kandinsky listened to music as he painted his paintings, such as the White Dot. We listened to music and danced as though we were lines. Loud music would make thick lines, soft music thin lines. Music that went up and down really fast might be zigzags, ethereal music might be curvy free-form lines. Then we listened to music as we painted our lines. Finally we learned about all the colors, another element of art, and painted rainbow colors behind our lines. Awesome, beautiful work, Kindergarten!
